Well, this is just so bloody brilliant, I am over the moon!!

Well, this is just so bloody brilliant, I am over the moon!!

The ONLY fabric I purchase new, as you know I use upcycled fabrics, preloved clothing, vintage or leftover stock for my designs, it takes time and lots of it, to care, love, rework, and repurpose something beautiful and once loved, cherished back to life, each piece has a history and its own story to tell.

Was it worn on a first date?

Was it for a special occasion?

What was its purpose?

What was it destined to be?

It could be a piece of fabric, an old broken necklace, an odd earring, something handed down and hidden away in a drawer, upcycling creates new memories, a new story to tell and treasure.

So, the ONLY fabric I  buy in new is 100% cotton buckram, I use this to make the bases for my products, as I refuse to use plastic ones, metal ones are notoriously uncomfortable, and I am all about looking good and feeling comfortable too. This is part of my 'buy less, buy better' ethos, if something is uncomfortable you are less likely to wear it again, and it will give you negative vibes, I want you to wear the product again and again, pass it to others to wear, with positive vibes only.

Anyhow back to the bloody brilliant news...

I am beyond excited that my supplier of buckram now produces 100% recycled cotton buckram, British woven and produced, which I purchase in bulk to help with the carbon footprint.

Everyone likes to live life fully: to connect and be social, to have a good time and spread positivity (life is too short to take yourself so seriously), but this can not come at the expense of the planet. The future of fashion is starting to change, consumers are beginning to look and be more conscious. Folly London plans to pioneer the Millinery revolution by sharing and teaching a sustainable way forward.

I am committed to always being honest, fully transparent and accountable and having a positive impact. With a strong vision and values, my mission is to forever continue to learn and grow Millinery fashion, socially and environmentally responsible, that embraces creativity and diversity, with the most beautiful, desirable high-quality products with the least impact on our planet. Disrupting British Millinery with edgy design and sustainability.

The next journey on my path to becoming even more sustainable has begun, who's with me?
